  • Chairing a Cabinet meeting, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to celebrate January 24 as ‘UP Diwas’ (UP Day).
    • Note : The United Provinces unit was renamed as Uttar Pradesh on this day (January 24) in the year 1950.

  • Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has flagged off ‘Gauvansh Chikitsa Mobile Vans’, an Ambulance Service that would cater to the needs of the cows.
  • Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has inaugurated the state’s first automatic weather station at Dongargaon in Nagpur.
    • The state government proposes to install around 2,065 such weather stations across the state on a public private partnership (PPP) mode in this year and 1,000 in next year.
    • These will be helpful in measuring the wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, relative humidity and record amount of rainfall.
  • Rajasthan has launched mobile patrolling units to prevent molestation, harassment or eve-teasing against women in the state.
    • As many as 26 patrolling units, each comprising of two female constables, were flagged off from the Jaipur Commissionerate today.
