Online applications are hereby invited from interested, eligible, and qualified candidates for engagement as Apprentices in Punjab National Bank under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Minimum Essential Qualification: -
Graduate degree in any discipline from any Institute/ College/ University recognized/ approved by Govt. bodies/ AICTE/ UGC. The result of the qualification must have been declared on or before 31.12.2025 and candidate must produce Mark Sheets and Provisional/ Degree Certificate issued from the University/ College/ Institute as and when required by the Bank.
AND
The candidates applying for training seats of a particular State/ UT, should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in local language of that State/UT.
Age Limit:-
The candidate must be between 20 and 28 years of age as on 01-01-2026, i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than 02-01-1998 and not later than 01-01-2006. (Age relaxation as per rules)
Duration of Apprenticeship Training: -
Total Duration of training will be of one year (i.e. 12 months) from the date of contract. The one-year training will include 2 weeks’ Basic Training and 50 weeks’ On-the-Job Training.
Stipend / Benefit:-
The engaged apprentices are eligible for following stipend per month for the contract period of 01 (one) year.

Selection Procedure:-
4 phases – Online Written Test, Document Verification, Test of Local Language & Medical Examination
(i) Online Written Test
The structure of online written examination (MCQs type) would be as follows:

(ii) Document Verification and Test of Local Language
Candidates will have to appear for the Document Verification at a centre (to be decided by the Bank) of the State/UT applied for, at his/her own expenses. The candidates applying for training seats of a particular State, should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in any one of the specified local languages of that State. Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test. For other candidates, the test for knowledge of local language will be conducted as a part of selection process. It will be conducted when the candidate is called for document verification by the Bank. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be engaged as apprentice.
(ii) Medical Examination
Engagement of candidates as apprentices shall be subject to their being declared medically fit, in accordance with the requirements of the Bank and/or as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and subsequent amendments thereto. Each candidate shall be required to produce a medical fitness certificate, at his/her own expense, issued by a practicing registered general physician holding at least an MBBS qualification.
