RBI – Grade B Officer Exams details

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducts RBI Grade B Officers Exam every year for placements in its branches across the country. This exam is conducted in 3 phases:

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Mains Examination

RBI Grade B Officers Prelims exam pattern

It is a 200 marks MCQ based paper with a time duration of 2 hours(120 mins). There are 4 sections (subjects) in this exam, those are General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language&Reasoning.

RBI Grade B Officers Mains Exam pattern

There are 3 sections (subjects) in this exam, those are Economics and Social Issues which is objective based paper ,Finance and Management which is descriptive paper &English (Writing Skills) which is objective paper.

The Phase 3 Interview round of RBI Grade B Officers is the final round and is conducted for those who have attained the aggregate passing score in Paper I, Paper II & Paper III of the mains examination. The interview holds 50 marks. The round takes an approx. 30 mins.

SBI Clerk Mains is also an MCQ based online exam. It has 4 sections which are English Language, Quantitive Aptitude, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude and General Awareness. There are 190 Questions, with a total score of 200 marks, and a time duration of 160 minutes. There is a negative marking with a deduction of 1/4th marks for every mistake.

IBPS Clerk Selection Pattern & Exam Process

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a common written exam (CWE) once every year to hire candidates for the post of clerical cadre across various banks in the country.

IBPS Clerk is an entry-level job in different public sector banks (PSU). In every clerical recruitment it is very important that the candidates are well aware of the regional or local language of the state for which they are applying as IBPS might conduct a regional language proficiency test after the mains examination.

The IBPS Clerk examination is conducted via two common written exams (CWE):

IBPS PO Exams Details & Selection Procedure

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous body in the field of Employment Testing, Selection, Assessment, and Management of Human Resources in India. IBPS offers its services to all Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) and to about 27 Public-Sector Banks, SBI, Associate Banks of SBI, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, LIC & Insurance companies and regular member Banks of the IBPS society.

In the last few years, IBPS conducts the PO CWE, for hiring candidates, online process.

The exam is conducted in 3 phases:

1. The IBPS PO Preliminary Exam
2. The IBPS PO Mains Exam
3. Interview

The IBPS PO preliminary examination is a 60 mins online examination. IBPS tests aspirants for 3 sections i.e Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning & English Language. The IBPS PO Prelims has 100 questions in total with a maximum score of 100 marks. There is negative marking of 1/4th marks for every wrong answer.

The IBPS PO Mains Examination is an online examination. This year IBPS has added a descriptive paper in its Mains exam worth 25 marks with a time duration of 30 mins. Thus, the total time allotted for the exam is 180 mins + 30 mins. With the recent updates to the exam, the IBPS PO Mains exam now has 5 sections (4 + 1)(Reasoning& Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General Economy & Banking Awareness and English Language (Letter Writing & Essay)with a maximum achievable score of 200 + 25 marks. In the Mains exam, IBPS also decides on sectional cut-offs depending on the difficulty levels of the exam.

The Interview round is a face-to-face interaction. This round carries 100 marks. Only those candidates, who clear cut-offs in the IBPS PO mains examination, qualify for this round. It is a 15 – 20 minutes round. The candidate’s knowledge on topics related to Banking, Current Affairs, Government updates, etc is tested.

The Final Scores are then calculated on the basis of the marks obtained in the Mains Examination & the interview round individually where the weightage is spread in an 80:20 ratio respectively.
